Homemade Apple Sauce

My Apple Orchard and Apple Sauce Adventure!

My family and I went to Mountain Apple Orchard. We had a blast picking apples and eating donuts. When we got home we made apple sauce.

Cooking the Apples
Mashing the Apples

Finished!
My Mom let my sister and I do many things on our own. Don’t worry she was there, but she didn't let us do things that were dangerous.

At the end of all this work, I decided that I did not like apple sauce, it was too sweet for me. I don’t like icing either. Have you made something homemade before? Did you like it?

Back to School - my advice

This is my 6th time going back to school. I am a Junior student this year, and I have some advice in case you are nervous.
Here is my list:
1. My Mom is a teacher and guess what, they are nervous too!
2. Don't worry about having the coolest clothes, just be yourself.
3. If you smile someone will smile back.
4. Be nice to the new kid.
5. Put your hand up to ask a question or go to the bathroom

I was once the new kid and it felt good when other kids were nice to me. Pretty soon we will all be back to school and I wanted to say good luck.

We decided to share of school supplies with the #NoMoreBullies project with Majic 100 Ottawa Thank you for all the suggestions!

Do you have advice for being nervous on the first day of school?

Can I donate Back to School supplies here in Ottawa?

we had fun building this
My family built a really cool Lemonade stand, everyone helped even Beckie. Mom still complains she couldn't get the paint out of our clothes.

We entered a contest to win gift cards to a nice mall called Billings Bridge . Andie and I each got 100.00....and that is a lot of money.

So we decided that we only needed one pair of shoes each for back to school. With the rest of the money we wanted to buy back to school supplies for kids in Ottawa. You know like a cool Hello Kitty lunch kit or Lego backpack. But I was wondering if there was a back to school charity in Ottawa.

I was thinking like the Christmas Angels, that we pick off the Christmas tree in December and buy the child the gift they want, but instead it was for back to school supplies? You know it's actually a really good idea, maybe like a school bus with little paper dolls all over it, where kids put their back to school wishes on the dolls.

My Mom said there might be a charity we could buy for right here in Ottawa and she would match whatever we donated (that means more money).

We are going shopping this week. Could you let me know if you know of a charity in Ottawa or the Valley I can donate to?  I really want to helps kids my own age make back to school time as happy as mine will be.

Lego is not a toy just for boys !

Today we had fun at my sister's birthday party. For some reason everyone brought Lego. Sometimes my sister Andie and I argue when we play games, for the first time in a long time we got along. We built a horse stable and a vet clinic. Yeah I know, out of Lego.

I think that my friends would think it was funny I was playing with Lego, because it's a boy's toy, but it's not! It is for everyone. We kinda showed that today. Andie and I are going to put the finished Lego in our bedroom to play with because our little brother Beckie will destroy it.
Me being crazy!

I am very excited about being able to write my thoughts down for everyone to read.
